Redundancy Groups
High Availability for Wireless Services
If the primary module is available, however, the two modules together cannot
adopt more RPs than the maximum number of licenses allowed for the group.
(Remember that if the primary module is available, the redundant module—
in standby mode—adopts RPs only if the primary module cannot.)
Configuring Wireless Services on the Redundant
Wireless Services xl Module
The redundant module has its own software image and configuration file.
Before the redundant module can deliver wireless services for your network,
you must configure it to provide those services—just as you configured the
primary module.
Because you undoubtedly want the redundant module to provide the same
wireless services provided by the primary module, you can use the primary
module’s configuration file as a starting point for configuring the redundant
module. You can transfer the primary module’s configuration file to a TFTP
or an FTP server and then upload the configuration file to the redundant
module. You can then edit module-specific settings (such as IP addresses for
virtual LANs [VLANs] and redundancy group settings) and save the configu-
ration to the redundant module’s startup-config.
If you later change the configuration on the primary module, you must
remember to make the same change on the redundant module.
