Read Me First

for the HP ProCurve AP 520wl and Radio Cards,

software release 2.4.5

Software Release 2.4.5 provides 802.11g Card support

and other new features

Software version 2.4.5 for your HP ProCurve AP 520wl is included on the

CD that comes with the HP ProCurve 802.11g AP card. This software

version or later is required to support the new 802.11g card. Make sure

that your AP 520wl has software version 2.4.5 or later installed.

In addition to supporting the 11g cards, software ve

rsion 2.4.5 has a number

of feature enhancements that also affect options for the 11a cards and the

general operation of your HP ProCurve AP 520wl . Please see “Software

Release 2.4.5 New Features” on the next page.

This software version, or a later version, is also availa

ble from the HP

ProCurve web site at http://www.hp.com/go/hpprocurve.

When you install th

e CD contents onto your PC, the 2.4.5 software will be

included in the file transfer. In addition, a TFTP server application will be

installed on your PC. You can use the TFTP server to download the 2.4.5

software to your 520wl. Please see chapter 2, “Getting Started” in the HP

ProCurve AP 520wl User Guide for instructions on downloading new code

to your AP 520wl. The User Guide is also included on the CD.

Software Updates

Hewlett-Packard provides software updates on the

HP ProCurve web site for your AP 520wl. To access the

software updates, go to the HP ProCurve web site at

http://www.hp.co

go/hpprocurve

, then click on Software

updates then Wireless access points to locate the software.

To determine whether you have the latest software, you can compare the

software version that is available on the web site with the version that is

currently installed on your AP 520wl.
