Configuring the GbE Interconnect Switch using the Menu-driven Interface
Displaying Basic GbE Interconnect Switch Information
You can display basic information about the GbE Interconnect Switch including: the type of
switch, any external modules that are installed, and the MAC address (assigned by the factory
and unchangeable) for that GbE Interconnect Switch. In addition, the boot PROM and
firmware version numbers display. This information is helpful in monitoring PROM and
firmware updates.
In addition, you can display advanced switch information including global settings for IGMP
snooping, GVRP, Telnet status, Web status, SNTP, and others.
To configure and display the GbE Interconnect Switch information and advanced settings:
1. Highlight Configure Switch Information and Advanced Settings from the
Configuration menu.
2. Press the Enter key. The following screen is displayed.
The Switch Information menu displays general information about the GbE Interconnect
Switch including:
Device Type—Identifies the GbE Interconnect Switch name.
Option #/Switch Spare #/Module Spare #—Identifies the option number for the
GbE Interconnect Switch and Interconnect Module combination, spare number for
the GbE Interconnect Switch, and spare number for the Interconnect Module.
MAC Address—Identifies the unique MAC address assigned by the factory. This
MAC address cannot be changed.
Boot PROM Version—Identifies the version number of the Boot PROM code
installed on the GbE Interconnect Switch.
Manufacturing Date—Identifies the date the GbE Interconnect Switch was
manufactured.
Firmware Version—Identifies the version number of the GbE Interconnect Switch
firmware.
