Table 134 RIP Interface Configuration commands
Command Description
[no] ip rip triggered Enables or disables Triggered Updates. Triggered Updates are used to speed
convergence. When enabled, Triggered Updates force a router to send update
messages immediately, even if it is not yet time for the update message. The
default value is
disabled.
Command mode: Interface IP
[no] ip rip multicast-
updates
Enables or disables multicast updates of the routing table (using address
224.0.0.9). The default value is
enabled.
Command mode: Interface IP
[no] ip rip default-action
{both|listen|supply}
When enabled, the switch accepts RIP default routes from other routers, but
gives them lower priority than configured default gateways. When disabled,
the switch rejects RIP default routes. This command is disabled by default.
Command mode: Interface IP
[no] ip rip metric {<1-15>} Configures the route metric, which indicates the relative distance to the
destination. The default value is
1.

[no] ip rip authentication
type {<password>}
Configures the authentication type. The default is none.

Configures the authentication key password.

Assigns a string to MD5 authentication key.
Command mode: Router OSPF
host <1-128> Configures an OSPF host route. Up to 128 host routes can be
configured. Host routes are used for advertising network device IP
addresses to external networks to perform server load balancing within
OSPF. It also makes Area Border Route (ABR) load sharing and ABR
failover possible.
