Update prerequisites

Before performing CNA or HBA updates, do the following:

• Ensure the system is running one of the operating system versions listed in HBA Software

Support Matrices, available at the SPOCK website http://www.hp.com/storage/spock.

It is essential to sign up for HP Passport to enable access.

• See the HP server PCI slot specifications to determine if the server is compatible with the CNA

or HBA.

• If the Linux operating system is being installed for the first time, load the operating system

before downloading and installing the Linux CNA/HBA/LOM driver from the HP website:

http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

Adapter installation instructions

For information on installing HBAs, see HP Emulex Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter and Driver

Installation Guide. To download either of these guides:

1. Go to http://www.hp.com/support/manuals.

2. Using the HP model number as a guide, enter the adapter model number in the Search products

box, and then click >>.

IMPORTANT: If both CNAs and Fibre Channel HBAs are installed in a Linux system, install and

use the CNA drivers.

If both CNAs and Fibre Channel HBAs are installed in a Windows system, install the FCoE CNA

driver and the Fibre Channel HBA driver.
