Overview
When installing an HP Smart Array E200 Controller in an HP
ProLiant DL145 G3 Server, use the following information to
connect the LED and SAS cables.
Drive number assignments
IMPORTANT: Installation of the SAS controller reverses
the standard configuration drive number assignments.

Installing the cables
WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock or
damage to the equipment, disconnect power from the
server by disconnecting all power cords from the
electrical outlets.
1. Install the HP Smart Array E200 Controller. See the HP
ProLiant DL145 Generation 3 Server Installation Sheet
that ships with the server and the installation instructions
that ship with the controller.
2. Route the unused additional power cable under the
controller.
IMPORTANT: Route the cable so that it does not
restrict airflow or become pinched when the access
panel is installed.
3. Route the cables from the controller through the fan area
between the fan cage and the chassis wall.
