Remove the optional hard drive backplane ("Optional hard drive backplane assembly (top)" on
page 42).
14. Remove the hard drive backplane ("Standard hard drive backplane assembly (bottom)" on page
42).
15. Remove all DIMMs ("DIMMs" on page 44).
16. Remove the heatsink ("Heatsink" on page 45).
17. Open the processor retaining latch and the processor socket retaining bracket.
CAUTION: To avoid damage to the processor:
• Handle the processor only by the edges.
• Do not touch the bottom of the processor, especially the contact area.
18. Using your fingers, remove the processor from the failed system board.
