HP Rack Kits
NOTE: Gen8 rail kits have changed significantly from prior generation rail kits.
Please take a moment to review the installation documentation that comes with the
server to help you with the installation of your Gen8 server.
NOTE: Rail kits are optional for Gen8 and are no longer included standard with the
server. Customers have the option to purchase their server without a rail kit.
Caution: HP recommends that a minimum of two people are required for all Rack
Server installations. Please refer to your installation instructions for proper tools
and number of people to use for any installation.
HP 1U Small Form Factor Easy Install Rail Kit
NOTE: For SFF models.
NOTE: Kit contains full extension rails which do allow for in rack serviceability. After
the rails are installed the server is aligned with the rails and slid into the rack. The
HP 1U Easy Install Cable Management Arm is optional.
Caution: HP recommends that a minimum of two people are required for all Rack
Server installations. Please refer to your installation instructions for proper tools
and number of people to use for any installation.

HP 1U FIO Friction Rail Kit
NOTE: Kit contains non-telescoping friction rails which do not allow for in rack
serviceability. The HP 1U Gen8 Cable Management Arm is not available when using
Friction Rails.

slid into the rack. The HP 1U Gen8 Cable Management Arm is optional. To assist in
the installation of the server into the rack an optional installation tool is available
by contacting your local services representative (p/n 695539-001). Caution: HP
