Recommended — Use HP-defined defaults to configure the server software and firmware,
partition storage, and install the operating system with HP drivers. HP recommends this
selection for first-time server setup.

• Customized — Custom installation enables you to configure each option for server software
and firmware updates, storage partitioning, and operating system installation with HP
drivers.
Choosing a Customized installation also allows you to choose SNMP and WBEM
management protocols. See “Customized Installation” (page 37) for more information.
• Manual — Provides critical boot drivers for the manual installation of an operating system
from a vendor. When selecting a manual installation, the only source media type available
is optical disc. This option reboots the server into the operating system CD/DVD that has
been inserted.
3. Select a source media type
Select disc, network share, FTP, or USB.
4. Click Continue
Click Continue to proceed.
5. Supply required information based on source media
Depending on the choice of source media, do one of the following:

Disc (default)
Specify a network share with operating system contents. Selecting Network File Share
requires you to add the following information:
• Server Name/IP Address — Server name or IP address of the server that hosts the
operating system contents. If a server name is specified, a DNS entry is required below.
• Share Name — The name of the network share using Server Message Block (SMB)
protocol that hosts the operating system contents.
• User Name — User name used to access the network share.
• Password — Password for the user name used to access the network share.
Network File Share
Enter the name or IP address of the FTP server that contains an operating system install. FTP
support requires anonymous access to the FTP server. Intelligent Provisioning does not
support connecting to an FTP server through a proxy.
IMPORTANT: When entering an FTP path, remove spaces and punctuation. The FTP server
folder structure should not contain spaces or special characters (including punctuation).

Browse the path to the operating system ISO, and then double-click the ISO file.USB
