Drive cage assembly
The hard drive cage assembly includes the Systems Insight Display ("Systems Insight Display LEDs" on page
84), front panel LEDs and buttons (on page 78), drive backplane, and cables.
To remove the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 25).
2. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Extend the server from the rack (on page 26).
4. Remove all drives ("Hot-plug drive" on page 31).
5. Disconnect all cables connected to the hard drive backplane from the system board.
6. Remove the hard drive cage assembly.
The server may look different than the one shown in the following illustration, depending on the server
model.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
DVD-ROM or DVD-RW drive
All configurations of this server, except the 10 SFF drive configuration, support the installation of a DVD-ROM
drive or a DVD-RW drive.
To remove the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 25).
2. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Extend the server from the rack (on page 26).
