3.7.0 HP StorageWorks MxDB-Oracle-HiAv installation and administration guide HP MxDB-Oracle-HiAv for Linux (AG513-96009, June 2009)

3. Set up .matrixrc files
When the MxDB-Oracle-HiAv mxdb interface needs to run a script, it checks the file
/root/.matrixrc on the server for authentication information. You will need to
create this file and supply the authentication information for each server. The root
user and password are required for creating the file.
The easiest way to do this is to create a bookmark via the HP Scalable NAS Connect
dialog, as described below. A bookmark is simply an entry in the .matrixrc file
that lists one or more servers and their authentication information. When you save
a bookmark, it is added to the .matrixrc file (the password is encrypted). The
.matrixrc file will be created if it does not already exist. After the file is created,
it can be copied to the other servers in the cluster.
To create a .matrixrc file containing a bookmark for your servers, complete these
steps:
1. Issue the mxconsole command to start the Management Console.
2. On the Authorization dialog, click Cancel. On the Disconnect screen that appears
next, select Login to another HP Scalable NAS and click OK.
3. The HP Scalable NAS Connect dialog will be displayed. Click Bookmarks at
the bottom of the window to open the Bookmarks list and then check Synchronize
Server Bookmarks Automatically.
