MxDB-Oracle-HiAv configuration file
MxDB-Oracle-HiAv supports an optional configuration file that uses the naming
convention mxdbha_<DBNAME>.conf where <DBNAME> is the name of the service
monitor associated with the Virtual Oracle Service (see Naming
conventions, page 11). If the file is used, it must be placed in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs.
For example, for Virtual Oracle Service PROD:
$ cd $ORACLE_HOME/dbs
$ ls -l *PROD*conf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 75 Feb 8 17:12 mxdbha_PROD.conf
The syntax for assigning values to parameters in the mxdbha_<DBNAME>.conf file
is as follows:
Parameter <white space> value
The following parameters can be set in the configuration file.
ActionValueParameter
MxDB-Oracle-HiAv logs
messages into this directory.
A full pathname to a regular PSFS
directory.
Default: See Logging, below.
log
Overrides the default MxDB-
Oracle-HiAv Listener pass-
word.
A legal SQL*Net Listener password,
or NONE to disable listener passwords
for the database.
Default: The value is taken from/opt/
hpcfs/mxdb_oracle_ha/lib/
lsnr_password/def.txt.
lsnr_password
Overrides the default 20
seconds allotted to the de-
fault probe for connecting to
the instance and performing
its default checks.
A value (in seconds) less than the total
Service Monitor timeout. This is an
advanced concept applicable only to
the development of custom probes.
Default: 20 seconds.

Logging
The probes and monitors provided with MxDB-Oracle-HiAv send logging output to
two locations. On each node, MxDB-Oracle-HiAv sends start/stop/recovery and
