3.7.0 HP StorageWorks MxDB-Oracle-HiAv installation and administration guide HP MxDB-Oracle-HiAv for Linux (AG513-96009, June 2009)

Database Name: This field contains two options: Create New Database Service,
which is used to create a Virtual Oracle Service for existing databases, and Create
Demo Database Service, which is used to create the PILOT demo database and
Virtual Oracle Service. Select Create Demo Database Service. The GUI will then
replace the text in the field with the name PILOT.
Virtual Host Name: Enter the DNS entry that the System Administrator specified for
this service. In our example, the entry is PILOT.customer.com.
Available Nodes/Selected Nodes: Select the nodes for the Virtual Oracle Service.
The Available column lists the cluster nodes that can be used for the Virtual Oracle
Service. To select the nodes that you want to support the pilot database, highlight a
node and use the Right arrow to move it to the Selected Nodes column. The top node
listed in the Selected Nodes column will be the Primary node, the second node will
be the first Backup, the third node will be the second Backup, and so forth. To change
the order of the Primary and Backup nodes in the Selected Nodes column, highlight
the node you want to change and then use the Up or Down arrows to change the
node order.
Net Services(SQL *Net): Select how Net services should be configured. If the
listener.ora and tnsnames.ora were previously generated by Oracle Net
Services configuration utilities such as netca, netmgr, or dbca, MxDB-Oracle-HiAv
cannot configure listener.ora and tnsnames.ora.
If you want MxDB-Oracle-HiAv to configure the files, click Allow solution pack to
configure the default Net Services configuration and then examine the tunable location
($ORACLE_HOME/network/admin, by default) and port (1521, by default) specified
by TNS_ADMIN. If the values are acceptable, click Configure.
NOTE:
This location field is right-justified, showing only the end of the path if it is too long
to fit in the window.
If you will be using Oracle Tools such as netca or netmgr to maintain Net Services
files, click Entries already exist/I will use netca/netmgr. A pop-up window will appear
instructing you to execute netca or netmgr in another session. After you configure
the listener and TNS services, you can return to the configuration GUI and close the
pop-up window.
