3.7.0 HP StorageWorks MxDB-Oracle-HiAv installation and administration guide HP MxDB-Oracle-HiAv for Linux (AG513-96009, June 2009)

Configure an existing database
Before configuring an existing database for MxDB-Oracle-HiAv, be sure to review
the checklist in Appendix A, page 67 to ensure that the software is correctly installed
and all preparation steps are completed.
To configure High Availability for an existing database, first shut the database down
and then start the configuration GUI by executing the following command from an
xterm session. You must be the Oracle user or a member of group DBA, and
ORACLE_HOME must be set in your environment to a valid Oracle_HOME.
# /opt/hpcfs/mxdb_oracle_ha/bin/mxdb -c
When the Application window appears, select the Oracle Home for the existing
database and verify/correct the Oracle owner and DBA Group information. (The
Oracle Home pull-down list is populated with contents from the /etc/oratab file.
You may need to copy the /etc/oratab file to each node in the cluster.)
