Delete a Virtual Oracle Service
Deleting a Virtual Oracle Service does not affect the database itself. The virtual host
and service monitor are removed, but the database remains intact. The database
will be shut down during this operation.
NOTE:
The entries for the Virtual Oracle Service will remain in the SQL*Net configuration
files. The DBA will need to edit the files and restart the listener to allow access through
a simple IP as opposed to the virtual host.
To delete a Virtual Oracle Service from the GUI, click Delete Oracle Service. You will
then be asked to confirm the operation.
To delete a Virtual Oracle Service from the CLI, run the following command:
mxdb -d <database_name> -R
Refresh status
The Refresh button at the bottom right-hand side of the screen can be used to update
the status of any operation that is taking some time.
Use the following CLI command to query status:
mxdb -d <database_name> -Q
For example:
mxdb -d PROD -Q
[oracle@tmr6s18 dbs]$ mxdb -d PROD -Q
Preparing to query the PROD Service on all nodes.
