The mxdb command line interface
In addition to the –c option, which invokes the GUI, the mxdb command can be
used for operations. The command is invoked as follows:
$ /opt/hpcfs/mxdb_oracle_ha/bin/mxdb -d <dbname> –options
The mxdb command includes options that enable Database Administrators to perform
most of the actions that are available in the MxDB-Oracle-HiAv GUI. (Adding an
Oracle Virtual Service is an exception; the GUI must be used for this operation.)
The following table describes the command arguments.
NOTE:
For commands other than mxdb -c, the -d option must appear first.
ProcedureOption
Invoke the GUI.-c
This argument is required and must appear first in the command. It specifies
the Virtual Oracle Service on which the command should be performed.
-d <DBNAME>
Query Service Status.-Q
Online service. Start a service monitor on the primary server and start the
database if not already started.
-O
Stop service and shut down an Oracle database. Do not use this command
while the database is in maintenance mode.
-S
Remove the Virtual Oracle Service from the system.-R
