Chapter 5: Post-Upgrade Steps 32
Upgrade the HP CFS Management Console on
Clients
The stand-alone HP CFS Management Console must be upgraded to
version 3.6.0 on any client systems currently running an earlier version of
the console. The stand-alone console cannot be installed on a server
running HP Clustered File System 3.6. (HP Clustered File System
includes a built-in version of the HP CFS Management Console.)
Complete these steps:
1. Remove the old version of the console using Add/Remove Programs
on the Control Panel.
2. Install the new version of the console. Locate the file
MxConsole_3.6.0.<xxxx>.msi on the distribution CD or in your
download location. Double-click the file and then run the Installation
Wizard.
Configure New Features
If you are upgrading from 3.4, you may want to configure the new
features provided with HP Clustered File System 3.6:
Event notifiers. The event notifier services can be configured to send
an SNMP trap, send email, or run a script when specific HP Clustered
File System events occur. See “Configure Notifiers and View Events”
in the HP StorageWorks Clustered File System Administration Guide.
HP Clustered File System SNMP service. This service provides an
SNMP extension agent and MIBs for retrieval of all cluster-wide state
and status information.
Role-Based Security. By default, the machine local Administrators
group has full cluster rights and can perform all HP Clustered File
System operations. You can use the Role-Based Security feature to
create roles that allow or deny other users and groups the ability to
perform specific cluster operations.
