User Authentication
HPClusteredFileSystemusesWindowscredentialstoauthorizeaccess
tothecluster.Bydefault,membersofthemachinelocaladministrators
grouphaveaccesstotheclusterandcanperformallclusteroperations.
Whenyouconfigurethecluster,youshouldlogontoWindowswitha
domainorlocaluseraccountthat
isamemberofthemachinelocal
administratorsgrouponthetargetHPClusteredFileSystemnodetobe
configured.Adomainuseraccountisrecommendedtoavoidadditional
authenticationpromptingwhenexportingtheconfigurationtoother
serversinthecluster.
Before beginning the setup procedure
Beforestartingthesetupprocedure,besuretoreviewtheconfiguration
requirementsspecifiedinChapter 2.Also,notethefollowing:
System Drive Requirement
Windows2003requiresthatadevicehaveanassigneddriveletteror
mountpathbeforeitwillallowreadorwriteaccesstoapartition.Conse
quently,HPClusteredFileSystemrequiresthatthesystemdrive(typically
C:)beonanNTFSfilesystem.ThisisnecessarybecauseHPClusteredFile
SystemcreatesmountpointsonthedirectoryC:\ProgramFiles\Hewlett
Packard\HPClusteredFileSystem\conf\mountsandonlyNTFSfilesystems
supportmountpoints.
