Settingswindow,selecttheDNStab.Choose“AppendtheseDNS
suffixes(inorder),”andselectAddtoaddyoursuffixes.
Youcanusenslookuptoverifythatthehostnameissetupcorrectly.
3. Configure the Server for WINS Clients
WINSclientsmaybeunabletoaccessmulti‐homedclusterservers
(servershavingmultipleNICs)ifNetBIOSandMicrosoftclient/server
networkbindingsareenabledonallinterfaces.Thesesettingsshouldbe
enabledonlyonpublicly‐reachable(routeable)interfaces.
Werecommendthatyoudisablethefollowingontheprivate(non‐routed
or
non‐clientreachable)interfaces:
•NetBIOSoverTCP/IP
•MicrosoftClientforMicrosoftNetworks
•FileandPrintSharingforMicrosoftNetworks(theNetBIOSoverTCP/
IPorNetBTclient)
AlsoleavetheDNSandWINSfieldsblankontheprivateinterfaces.

4. Install a Firewall (Optional)
Ifyouwillbeinstallingafirewall,ensurethattheserviceportsrequired
byHPClusteredFileSystemareopen.SeetheHPStorageWorksX5500
NetworkStorageGatewayforWindowsAdministrationGuideformore
informationabouttheportsusedbyHPClusteredFileSystem.
5. Reboot the Server
Reboottheserver.Thisstepensuresthattheregistryisinaknowngood
most‐recentstate.Youmayalsowanttobackupthecurrentstateofthe
server(suchasfiles,registry,andsoon).
