Set the Array to Fabric Mode
HPClusteredFileSystemrequiresthatstoragearraysbeconfiguredin
fabricmode.YoucancheckthemodesettingontheEasyStorageSetup
window.ForeachHABusedforthecluster,theLoopIDmustbesetto
FPort.Ifyouneedtochangethemode,clicktheHAB,select
theFPort
setting,andpressEnter.
Add a New Server to a Cluster
Usethefollowingproceduretoaddanewservertoanexistingcluster.
NOTE: IftheserverwaspreviouslyusedinadifferentHPClusteredFile
Systemcluster,removethecontentsofthedirectoryC:\Program
Files\HewlettPackard\HPClusteredFileSystem\conf(ifHP
CFS3.2.1or3.4.xisinstalled),orofthedirectory
%SystemDrive%\ProgramFiles\HPCFS\MatrixServer\conf
(for
HPClusteredFileSystem2.7.2,)beforeyouperformthefollowing
procedure.
1. EnsurethattheiLOnetworkconfigurationaswellasausername
andpasswordaresetontheiLOcard.ThisassumesiLObased
fencingisbeingusedandnotfabricbasedfencing.Thismayrequirea
rebootofthe
server.
2. InstallMPIOSoftware(Optional).IfMPIOsoftwareisbeingusedon
theotherclusternodes,ensurethatthesamesoftwareisinstalledand
configuredonthenewnodebeforeattachingthenodetotheSAN.
3. ChecktheDNShostname.EnsurethattheDNShostnameissetup
properlyon
thenewserver.See“2.SetUptheDNSHostname”on
page10.
4. Importtheexistingclusterconfiguration.Youcanimportthe
configurationfromanyserverinthecluster.Completethesesteps:
a. Onthenewserver,selectStart>Programs>HPClustered
Gateway>HPCFSManagementConsole.Onthe
Connection
Parameterswindowthatopensnext,typetheIPaddressofthe
server.Thentypeadminforboththeuserandthepasswordand
clickConfigure.
