AllnetworksusedwithHPStorageWorks X5500NetworkStorage
GatewayforWindows(HPX5500StorageGatewayforWindows)should
beconfiguredasfollows:
• Eachnetworkinterfacecard(NIC)mustbeonaseparatephysical
network.Forexample,youcoulduseeitheraseparateEthernetswitch
foreachnetworkoramanaged
switchthatallowsnetworktrafficto
beisolated.
• EachNICmustbeonaseparatelogicalIPnetwork.
•Networkinterfacesshouldbemulticast‐capable.Ifaninterfacedoes
notprovidethiscapability,contactHPSupportforassistance.
• 802.3xEthernetflowcontrolcannotbeused.Besuretocheckthe
driversettingsfor
yourNICstoensurethatthisfeatureisdisabled.
•Thenetworktopologyshouldbesymmetrical;eachserverinthe
clustershouldbeconnectedtothesamesetofnetworks.
•OneoftheNICsistypicallyusedforaprivateintra‐clustersubnet.
