HP Smart Update Manager 6.4.1 Release Notes

HP SUM updates do not complete and display the message Not updated - already current
Suggested Action: Do not use the Force command or parameter to update NIC firmware.
CLI issues
The /use_web legacy CLI command does not work
Suggested Action: Use the GUI mode to download baselines from hp.com. Once HP SUM downloads
the baseline, you can use CLI mode to perform updates using the downloaded baseline.
HP SUM does not deploy multiple components in legacy CLI mode when listed separately in one
command
Suggested Action: Copy the components into a directory and use the /use_location command. If
you are deploying more than ten components, use this suggested action.
HP SUM in CLI mode gives unexpected results
Suggested Action: Make sure you use lower-case letters for all CLI parameters.
HP SUM interactive CLI mode for HP-UX nodes in a Serviceguard cluster requires two instances of the
setattributes /ignorewarnings parameter
Suggested Action: Before deploying an HP-UX node that is an active member of a Serviceguard cluster
and has non-redundant boot disks, issue the setattributes command parameter
ignore_warnings=true twice. For example:
hpsum inventory /nodes 10.1.2.3
hpsum setattributes /nodes 10.1.2.3 ignore_warnings=true
hpsum setattributes /nodes 10.1.2.3 ignore_warnings=true
hpsum deploy /nodes 10.1.2.3
HP SUM does not work in interactive CLI mode when the FTP port 21 is already in use
Suggested Action: Verify that FTP port 21 is not already in use. This will be resolved in a future version.
HP SUM displays a failed to add node message if you provide incorrect credentials
Suggested Action: HP SUM adds the node. Delete the node and then add the node again with correct
credentials.
Report issues
HP SUM does not display VMware Smart Array firmware components on firmware reports
Suggested Action: No action. This is a known issue that will be resolved in a future version.
HP SUM does not automatically reboot HP-UX nodes after updating an IO
If you click select Reboot when updating an HP-UX IO, HP SUM shuts down the node, but does not
automatically restart the node.
Suggested Action: Manually restart the node after HP SUM shuts it down.
HP SUM generates XML report files in Console Mode if no report type is selected
Suggested Action: Choose the report type that you want to generate.
HP SUM generates blank XML reports in Console Mode if no parameters are selected
Suggested Action: No action necessary. This will be fixed in a future version.
