HP Intelligent Provisioning 1.00 Release Notes

When using Intelligent Provisioning in a non-English language, the Review and OS Info pages
may be displayed in English rather than in the selected language, even after changing the language
in the OS Product Information page.
When doing a recommended or custom installation of Windows Datacenter Core editions the
system reboots after successfully copying Intelligent Provisioning and operating system files. After
Windows comes up, the Administrator account is not available. This issue is also observed with
Windows 2008 SP2 x64bit Hyper V, Enterprise x64 Edition Core, and Windows 2008 SP2
x64bit Hyper V, Standard x64 Edition Core.
Suggested action: After installing Windows Datacenter Core editions, log into the Administrator
account with a blank password. In this mode you will see only a command line (cmd) page.
From the Windows custom install, if you select WBEM on the OS Information page and then click
the back arrow, WBEM resets to NO, the default value.
Suggested action: After clicking the back arrow, verify all field values.
The reboot button in the recovery ISO is labeled Reboot into F10, implying that it will reboot into
Intelligent Provisioning. The behavior was changed to improve security; the server no longer
reboots into Intelligent Provisioning.
When installing Windows 2008 SP2, the recommended install method requires a product key
while the custom install method will not proceed without the product key.
Suggested action: Have the product key available during the installation in case it is needed.
Installation of NFS and FTP will proceed with a disconnected Ethernet. It might appear that the
card is not working.
Suggested action: If the NIC appears broken, verify that the Ethernet is connected.
When the power profile is updated in the Quick Config Utility on the Maintenance page, the new
setting is not reflected on the Hardware Settings page.
Suggested action: Modify the power profile on the Hardware Settings page, if necessary.
If Ethernet Port 0 is not up during a VMware install, the system will appear unresponsive, without
installing the operating system.
Suggested action: When doing a VMware installation, verify that Ethernet Port 0 is connected
and working.
The NC5525SFP 10 Gb 2-port Ethernet Server Adapter is incorrectly displayed as HP NC552SFP
10Gb 2-port FlexFabric Converged Network Adapter.
No information is populated in the System Management Homepage after a Recommended install
on Windows. This is expected behavior because by default only AMS is installed.
Suggested action: To populate the information in the SMH, install WBEM or SNMP agents.
When using Intelligent Provisioning to install VMware using iLO Virtual Media, install failures
occur intermittently on DL160gen8 servers.
Suggested action: Either use a different installation source or install VMware manually without
using Intelligent Provisioning.
Clarifications to the online help
Intelligent Provisioning only automatically installs and integrates the minimum set of firmware
components required. You can use Intelligent Provisioning to find, install, and integrate additional
firmware components.
In the Step 1: Set Preferences page, the online help states that the EULA option will not appear
when you return to the preference page. The EULA option can always be seen in this page, but
Intelligent Provisioning will remember that the EULA has been accepted.
