Version: 1.10 Description These release notes discuss issues and their potential workarounds, and important information regarding HP Intelligent Provisioning. HP Intelligent Provisioning is one of the embedded management features of the HP iLO Management Engine, which comes standard on all HP ProLiant Gen8 servers, and offers the ability for out-of-the-box single-server deployment and configuration without the need for media.
Enhancements • New server support. ◦ HP ProLiant BL420c Gen8 ◦ HP ProLiant BL465c Gen8 ◦ HP ProLiant DL360e Gen8 ◦ HP ProLiant DL380e Gen8 ◦ HP ProLiant DL385p Gen8 ◦ HP ProLiant ML350e Gen8 Prerequisites • Hardware, firmware, and software requirements for this release are listed in the HP Intelligent Provisioning Server Support Guide. • Installation and upgrade prerequisites are documented in the HP Intelligent Provisioning User Guide.
Operational issues • The server might appear unresponsive and need to be rebooted after clicking a link on the Package Details page of any component in the FW Update Utility that references a web page on an external website. Suggested action: Internet access is disabled for security reasons. Do not click any links in the Package Details page to the hp.com or any other website on the Internet. • Intelligent Provisioning appears unresponsive while loading.
• If an SPP hot fix has been applied and the IP repository has not been updated with the hot fix, the Firmware Update screen displays the incorrect ROM versions. Suggested action: Use SPP and HP SUM for the update. • When using Intelligent Provisioning in a non-English language, the Review and OS Info pages may be displayed in English rather than in the selected language, even after changing the language in the OS Product Information page.
Linux-specific issues • If SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1 is updated using the base operating system image in Intelligent Provisioning, the connected operating system media will be scanned as Valid media, but after booting connected media hard disk will not be detected. Suggested action: When installing SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1 via Intelligent Provisioning, a kISO (kernel update ISO) must be used.
