HP Intelligent Provisioning 1.40 Release Notes
Known issues and suggested actions
HP strongly recommends that the resolutions listed in this document be applied accordingly to instructions
in the resolution documents. Failure to do so might result in issues that can cause disruption to the
operation and functionality of HP ProLiant servers. This list is updated as new issues are discovered
and resolved.
Operational issues
• During the installation process, when firmware is obtained from the HP website and is installed,
indicator buttons in the display might not display properly.
Suggested action: Disregard the display problem with the indicators; the files are actually being
downloaded.
• The size of the page file is the same, regardless of the setting selected for Disallow swap space
(not recommended).
Suggested action: After the installation is complete, manually set the page file size.
• Logs for a specific day cannot be downloaded in the Active Health System download page.
Suggested action: Download the logs through iLO.
• On systems with HP H220, H222, and H210i Host Bus Adapters, the installation may stall when
using Intelligent Provisioning to install VMware ESX 4.1 U2.
Suggested action: Wait. The installation will proceed and the OS will come up successfully.
• A device was not updated through the Firmware Update Utility.
Suggested action: Use HP SUM to update the component from the SPP.
• After generating an Array Diagnostic Report through Array Configuration Utility and saving it to
a USB key, the USB key is not detected in other Intelligent Provisioning utilities.
Suggested action: Reboot the server.
• During product launches, HP might experience down times in which online files might be
unavailable. These files might include those needed for downloading Intelligent Provisioning, SPP,
and Scripting Toolkit. Connection errors might also be experienced during these times.
• In the Perform Maintenance screen, if Insight Diagnostics is double-clicked, a message is displayed,
notifying you that you attempted to have two sessions of Insight Diagnostics open at the same
time.
Suggested action: When selecting menu options in the Perform Maintenance screen, only a single
click is necessary. To correct this situation, follow the instructions in the message.
• When performing a Custom Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials installation, an error
message might be displayed.
Suggested action Reboot the server.
• When Create a deployment setting from the assisted install is selected in the Step 4: Review screen,
customized SNMP and WBEM settings are not saved in the deployment settings package as
expected.
Suggested action: After creating a deployment settings package in this step, go to the Deployment
Settings option in the Perform Maintenance screen, and navigate through the settings. Make
changes as needed, including the SNMP and WBEM settings. (Deployment setting packages save
only the options available through the Recommended installation method. Additional settings that
can be entered in the Customized installation method are not saved.)
