Note
The example esxcli commands are applicable for SSH or VMware ESXi Shell. vSphere CLI execution requires additional
connection parameters such as the target VMware ESXi host.
Note
There is currently an issue with setting the VF enumeration value to zero for the first PF. In this scenario, none of the PFs will
enumerate their VFs. See the section “
Known issues and workaroundsfor additional details.
Host profile
For details on using a host provile to configure the PF device driver, see the to SR-IOV section of the vSphere 5.1
document, vSphere Networking, available at pubs.vmware.com.
3. Reboot the server.
4. Confirm that the VFs were enabled as expected by viewing the available devices for passthrough:
A. From the vSphere Client, select the ESXi host.
B. Click the Configuration tab.
C. Select Advanced Settings under the Hardware section.
If the VFs are not displayed as shown in Figure 4, then there may be a configuration issue. If this is the case, confirm
that all required changes have been made and that the configuration is supported by HP as defined in this paper. In
addition, refer to the section
Known issues and workarounds to confirm that you have not been impacted by a known
issue.
