HP System Management Homepage timeout message
A ProLiant DL580 G7 or ProLiant DL980 G7 server using HP System Management Homepage
(SMH) for Windows may display a "Timeout" message when loading web pages for HP Insight
Management WBEM Providers Version 2.6.0.0 or 2.6.1.0 for Windows. When this occurs, the
HP Insight Management WBEM Providers webpage does not load and a pop-up window will
indicate that the page cannot be loaded. This occurs because HP Insight Management WBEM
Providers may take longer to process data requests for the ProLiant DL580 G7 and ProLiant DL980
G7 servers. A future version of HP Insight Management WBEM Providers will allow the web pages
to load in HP System Management Homepage (SMH).
As a workaround, to prevent the "Timeout" from occurring, perform the following to increase the
timeout value that is currently set: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. I 6. Note:
1. Log into HP System Management Homepage using the Administrator access.
2. Select the Settings tab.
3. Select the Security link.
4. Select the Timeouts link.
5. ncrease the UI Timeout value.
6. Click Save.
NOTE: A timeout value of 60 seconds or longer may need to be used for servers that are fully
populated with memory and processors.
HP Insight Management WBEM Providers for Windows may not display
correct information on various components
On an HP ProLiant DL580 G7 and ProLiant DL980 G7 server running HP Insight Management
WBEM Providers for Windows Version 2.6.0.0, after the server is restarted, memory and sensor
information may not be available in HP System Management Homepage for Windows; instead,
the Memory information page and Sensor information page may contain no data. When this
occurs, application errors from WMIPRVSE.exe similar to the following may be posted in the
Windows Application Event Log:
