HP ProLiant DL 980 G7 Server System Errata

This timeout can occur on any ProLiant DL980 G7 server running one of the following Windows
Server 2008 R2 platforms and using the HP WBEM Providers for Windows Version 2.6 and
Systems Management Homepage Version 6.1 (SMH):
• Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition x64
• Windows Server 2008 R2 Data Center Edition x64
• Windows 2008 Data Center Edition x64 SP-2
A future release of the HP WBEM Providers for Windows will include an update and allow the
SMH to refresh without timeout errors.
As a workaround, increase the default timeout of SMH to 120 seconds and the information will
be displayed after refreshing the SMH page two or three times. To reset the default timeout, perform
the following steps:
1. Login to HP System Management Homepage with Administrator privilege.
2. Go to the Settings Tab.
3. Click on the link Security in the System Management Homepage box.
4. Click on the link Timeouts in the Security Page.
5. Edit the timeout in UI Timeout (120 Seconds) in the Timeouts page.
6. Select Apply to set the timeout.
HP Insight Management WBEM Providers for Windows may repeatedly
report Event ID 2006 Errors from Source PERFNET in the Windows
Application Log
HP ProLiant DL980 G7 servers configured with more than 64 logical processors and running
Windows Server 2008 R2 and HP Insight Management WBEM Providers may repeatedly report
Event ID 2006 errors from source PERFNET in the Windows Application Log. Insight Management
WBEM Providers constantly query windows performance data that will trigger the application log
to be populated with Event ID 2006 and event source PERFNET. This is a known issue with Microsoft
for applications which follow 32-bit architecture on Windows Server 2008 R2 with more than 64
