HP ProLiant Storage Server Release Notes (January 2006)

Storage Server release notes 27
Issue: A blue screen occurs on the DL100 G2 if rebooted during resynchronization of the storage
volume
Description If the DL100 G2 storage server (software RAID models only) is rebooted while
the storage volume in Microsoft Disk Management displays a “Resynching
status, a blue screen may occur on the storage server during startup.
WARNING! Do not shut down or reboot the DL100 G2 storage server
(software RAID models only) when actions have been taken using Microsoft Disk
Management to resynchronize the storage volume, and the volume status
displays “Resynching.” Wait until the storage volume displays “Healthy” before
rebooting or shutting down the system. Resynchronization may take some time,
depending on the size of the volume. Although you can access a volume while
synchronization is in progress, do not make any configuration changes to the
storage during resynchronization.
Workaround A recovery of the storage server must be performed using the Quick Restore
DVD.
Issue: Remote Desktop Timeout is removed
Description The session timeout for Remote Desktop has been removed for the ML110 G2
and DL585 platforms.
Workaround Not applicable.
Issue: Format logical disk fails on the ML110 and DL100 without a drive letter
Description After using Quick Restore where a complete erasure of the OS and data drives
occurs, the server contains two 9 GB logical OS drives and one logical data
drive, which varies in size depending on the model purchased. While the data
partition is present on the drive, there is no drive letter and it is not formatted. If
you attempt to use Disk Management to format the partition (right-click Partition
and select Format) the operation fails with Format did not complete
successfully.
Workaround To successfully format the partition, assign a drive letter first, and then format.
