Microsoft Print Management Console
Print Managem ent in the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 operating system is a Microsoft
Management Console (MMC) snap-on that system administrators can use to perform common print
management tasks in a large enterprise. It provides a single interface that administrators c an use to
perform printer and print server management tasks efficiently with detailed control. You can use Print
Management from any computer running Windows Server 2003 R2, and you can manage all network
printers on print ser vers running Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003, or Windows Server
2003 R 2.

HP Web Jetadmin
Integrating the HP Web J etadmin (WJA) print management application to the HP Storage Server or
File Print Appliance Management Console is new. WJA is a web-based tool for remotely installing,
configuring, and managing a wide variety of HP and non-HP network peripherals using only a web
browser. It suppor ts a modular design, whereby plug-ins can be installed to provide additional device,
language, and application functionality. WJA is not pre-installed on the storage server, but can be
installed (see "Web Jetadmin installation" on page 70)
HP Install Network Printer Wizard
The incl
usion of the HP Install Network Printer Wizard (INPW) utility on the factory image is new. INPW
simplifi
es the process of installing network printers, including configuration settings on the print server.
INPW ide
ntifies HP Jetdirect network print devices and allows the user to select the printer to install on
the p rint server.
HP Download Manager for Jetdirect Print Devices
The inclusion of the HP Download Manager (DLM) for Jetdirect Printer Devices on the factory ima ge is
new. D LM is used to upgrade HP Jetdirect print ser ver firmware on HP network p rinters. The utility
obtains the latest firmware catalog from either from the Internet or from a c omputer with the download
firmware images already in place. The DLM discovers all or user-selected Jetdirect devices and upgrades
those based on the firmware catalog.
Mic rosoft Print Migrator Utility
TheinclusionoftheMicrosoftPrintMigratorutilityonthefactoryimageisnew. Theutilityprovides
complete printer configuration backup of the print ser ver to a user-specified CAB file. Print Migrator
supports migration of print configuration data between different versions of Windows, and supports
conversion of line printer remote (LPR) por ts to the Standard TCP/IP Por t Monitor on Windows 2000,
Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003.
Network printer drivers
Updated print drivers for HP net work printers are preinstalled on the storage server. If a Service Release
DVD has been run on the server, there are updated HP network print drivers in the C:\hpnas\PRINTERS
folder.
