10. Install the corresponding PPM before powering up the server. See the
following section, “Installing the PPM for Processor 2.”
11. Reinstall the internal fan baffle by reversing step 4.
Installing the PPM for Processor 2
Each Intel Pentium III processor supplied by Compaq comes with a PPM
(DC-to-DC converter). The PPM must be installed into the slot adjacent to its
processor to provide power to that processor.
NOTE: The PPM for Processor 1 is integrated on the system board.
1. Align the PPM with the PPM slot.
2. Slide the PPM into the slot until the latches snap securely into
place
.
