SCSI Cabling
IMPORTANT: The cabling procedures in this section apply only to SCSI models of the
ProLiant ML330 Generation 2 server or ATA models with a SCSI option card. See the
following section, “ATA Cabling,” for information on cabling ATA models.
IMPORTANT: ATA models with a SCSI option card require a SCSI cable not included with
the option kit. Refer to the Compaq ProLiant ML330 Generation 2 Cabling Guide for cable
information specific to your model.
Consider the following guidelines when adding SCSI devices to your
ProLiant ML330 Generation 2 server:
■ As a general rule, a maximum of seven devices may be added per
channel. Your server is equipped with two integrated Wide Ultra3 SCSI
channels.
■ Be sure to remove all terminating jumpers from third-party
SCSI devices.
■ You must manually set the SCSI ID on each device to a unique value in
the range of 0 through 6 for each SCSI bus. Refer to the documentation
provided with the device for instructions on how to set the SCSI ID.
