Connecting the Server Management
Information Cable (SMIC)
The Server Management Information Cable (SMIC) provides system-critical
management information to the operating system. Proper SMIC connections
help avoid potential system failure and BIOS error messages. Figure 4-10 and
Figure 4-11 illustrate the proper SMIC connection between the system board
and the Server Feature Board.
