Known issues and suggested actions
HP strongly recommends that the resolutions listed in this document be applied accordingly to instructions
in the resolution documents. Failure to do so might result in issues that can cause disruption to the
operation and functionality of HP ProLiant servers. This list is updated as new issues are discovered
and resolved.
SNMP cannot be installed on HP-branded Win 2008 Combo media using Intelligent Provisioning.
SNMP can be installed on HP-branded Windows 2008 R2 Combo media, which is supported.
Suggested action: Upgrade to Windows Server 2008 R2 or install the operating system manually
without Intelligent Provisioning.
The server may appear unresponsive and need to be rebooted after clicking a link on the Package
Details page of any component in the FW Update Utility that references a web page on an external
website.
Suggested action: Internet access is disabled for security reasons. Do not click on any links in the
Package Details page to the hp.com or any other website on the Internet.
The Next arrow on the Step 1: Set Preferences page appears enabled, but is not.
Suggested action: You must accept the EULA before the arrow is enabled.
An FTP path with spaces or punctuation does not work.
When performing a VMware custom installation, the OS Information and navigation arrows on
the Review pages do not have associated words.
Suggested action: Click the left arrow to return the previous page or the right arrow to continue
to the next page.
When performing a VMware custom installation, the next page arrow on the OS Information
page is not enabled until the optional information is provided.
Suggested action: Enter the optional information.
The OS Installation page is missing the Home and Help icons for Windows operating systems.
Suggested action: Return to the previous page to access the home page and help information.
After disabling the System Software Update option in the Intelligent Provisioning Preferences
page and then visiting the home page, Update before OS install is selected as the default System
Software Update option when following the Install and Configure path.
Suggested action: Select the Skip Update option even though it is already disabled in the
preferences. If you continue without selecting Skip Update, the system may become unresponsive
when attempting to update the system software update.
NTFS format USB drives are not detected in Intelligent Provisioning.
Suggested action: Use a FAT32 file system formatted USB key.
The SBSv7(base) operating image is too large for a FAT32 format USB flash drive.
Suggested action: Instead of using a flash drive, use real media, do a network install via ISO, or
mount virtual media through iLO.
For some non-English languages, Array Configuration is sometimes translated in the user interface.
These should remain untranslated as Array Configuration Utility.
