HP Virtual Connect errors 218
Verify end-to-end connectivity (for example, the ping command).
Make sure OA has appropriate firmware version and update if necessary.
If all workarounds fail:
a. Export a support package from VC for HP analysis.
b. Capture the output of the OA show all command for HP analysis.
c. Contact HP customer support with the previously gathered information.
Ethernet Module events (3000-3999)
3009 - Enet Module OA CPU Fault Event
Severity: MAJOR
Description: The Onboard Administrator has reported to the VC management application that the indicated
module has reported a hardware failure.
Possible causes:
Component hardware failure detected.
Transient hardware or firmware failure.
Action: Power-cycle the module to clear any transient failures. If the condition persists or occurs repeatedly,
replace the module.
3012 - Enet Module State FAILED
Severity: CRITICAL
Description: The module is non-functional due to a hardware or operating system failure. VC cannot
configure or monitor this module. This error will impact network traffic.
Possible cause: The OA reported the module status as failed. This is due to a hardware failure or operating
system failure. The OS failure could be a kernel panic, memory exhausted, CPU overload, or OS boot failure.
Action: Do not attempt any configuration changes to the Virtual Connect Domain. Recommended corrective
actions:
Physically remove and reseat Ethernet module that was indicated as Failed.
If the module continues to be in a Failed state, replace this module.
If hardware replacement does not correct the issue:
a. Export a support package from VC for HP analysis.
b. Capture the output of the OA show all command for HP analysis.
c. Contact HP customer support with the previously gathered information.
3014 - Enet Module state INCOMPATIBLE
Severity: MAJOR
Description: A module that exists in an enclosure is not compatible with the VC domain configuration.
Possible cause 1: A newly inserted module is not compatible with a module that is adjacent to it.
