ML530 933-MHz Server

The ProLiant ML530 933-MHz server is available with the Pentium III processor.

This server includes all the features of the 800- and 866 MHz servers.

The 800- and 866 MHz servers can be upgraded to a ProLiant ML530 933-MHz

server.

Table 1 identifies the 933-MHz server.

Distinctive Features of the Upgraded ProLiant ML530 Server

The new model brings the following changes to the ProLiant ML530 Pentium III

line:

n 933-MHz processor with 256KB integrated Level 2 cache

n An updated ROMpaq image dated 12/21/99 or later, accessible from the

Compaq website: http://www.compaq.com/servers/support

Switch Settings

It is not necessary to modify internal switch settings when implementing the 933-

MHz server, either as an optional upgrade or as a newly procured system.

Upgrade Path to the ProLiant ML530 933-MHz Server The Pentium III 933-MHz Processor Option Kit is supported on the 800- and 866MHz servers, allowing customers an easy upgrade path. Note When upgrading to a 933-MHz system, you do not have to change the System I/O Board; however, you must run ROMPaq to upgrade the ROM. Upgrade Options Table 2 lists the upgrade option kits and spares kits for the 933-MHz processor. Refer to TechInfo for a complete list of options and part numbers.
