3. The following message will display after approximately 30 seconds:
Setup could not determine the type of computer you have, or you have chosen to
manually specify the computer type.
Select the computer from the following list, or select “Other” if you have a device
support disk provided by your computer manufacturer.
NOTE: If you do not get this screen, but are prompted for Windows NT Setup disk 2, you
will need to press the F3 key twice to exit and try again.
4. Select Other.
5. When prompted for a manufacturer-supplied hardware support disk,
insert the Compaq Server Support for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 –
disk 1 of Compaq SSD for Windows NT 3.51 Version 1.35A or later
into the diskette drive and press Enter.
6. Select the appropriate Compaq HAL for your server (SystemPro
Multiprocessor, MPS Multiprocessor, or Uniprocessor). Insert the
Compaq Server Support for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 – disk 2 into
the diskette drive and press Enter. You have now completed the
installation of the Compaq HAL.
7. Insert the Windows NT Server Setup – disk 2 when prompted.
8. Select Express Setup as the installation method.
9. Insert the Windows NT Server Setup – disk 3 when prompted and press
Enter.
10. When Setup prompts that the CD-ROM drive has been found, press S to
specify additional devices.
11. Select Other.
12. Insert the disk provided by the hardware manufacturer when prompted
and press Enter.
13. Insert the Compaq Server Support for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 –
disk 1 of Compaq SSD for Windows NT 3.51 Version 1.35A or later
into the diskette drive and press Enter.
14. Select Compaq 32-bit SCSI-2 Controllers for Windows NT 3.51 and
press Enter. The screen listing recognized mass storage devices will
return.
15. Press Enter to continue, or press S to specify additional storage devices,
such as Compaq Drive Array.
16. Follow the remaining Windows NT Server Setup instruction screens to
complete your installation of Windows NT Server.
