Installing a blade
IMPORTA NT:
If your HP SB460c SAN Gateway Storage Server is
factory-integrated, the blades are pre-installed in the enclosure.
CAUTION:
To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate
the blade or the enclosure unless all hard drive and device bays
are populated with either a component or a blank.
1. Remove the blank.
2. Prepare the blade for installation.
3. Install the blade.
Completing the conguration
To complete the HP BladeSystem enclosure conguration, see the
overview card that ships with the enclosure.
When the enclosure is powered o n, the installed blades are also
powered on and the storage server installation process begins. The
installation process takes approximately 10–15 minutes and requires
no user interaction.
NOTE:
The HP SB460c SAN Gateway Stor age Server comes pre-installed
with the Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 (Standar d
Edition) operating system. There is no operating system
installation required.
After the enclosure has be en congured and the storage server
installation process is complete, log on to the storage server using the
default
user name administrator and password hpinvent.
After lo
gging in for the rst time, use the Rapid Startup Wizard to set up
your system with basic conguration information.
