Removal and replacement procedures 30
To remove the component:
1. Back up all server data on the drive.
2. Determine the status of the drive from the drive LED definitions ("Hot-plug drive LED definitions" on page
71).
3. Remove the drive.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
Hot-plug drive cage backplane
To remove the component:
1. Back up all server data on the drive.
2. Power down the server (on page 24).
3. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
4. Remove the server from the chassis (on page 24).
5. Disconnect all cables from the drive cage backplane.
6. Remove the hot-plug drives ("SFF hot-plug drive" on page 29).
7. Remove the SFF hot-plug drive cage (on page 25).
8. Remove the drive cage backplane.
