Description
Intelligent Provisioning is one of the embedded management features of the HP iLO Management
Engine, and is a single-server deployment tool embedded in all HP ProLiant Gen8 servers. Intelligent
Provisioning supplies most drivers required for your operating system.
Intelligent Provisioning replaces the SmartStart CDs and Smart Update Firmware DVD shipped with
previous generation HP ProLiant servers. The CDs and DVD do not ship with HP ProLiant Gen8 servers.
These release notes provide information about this release of Intelligent Provisioning, including support
information, enhancements, and known issues and their potential workarounds.

Product models
Intelligent Provisioning supports HP ProLiant Gen8 servers.
HP ProLiant SL and SE servers do not support operating system installations with Intelligent Provisioning,
but do support the maintenance features described in the Performing Maintenance section of the HP
Intelligent Provisioning User Guide and online help.

NOTE: Intelligent Provisioning does not support all server-supported operating systems, including
32-bit Windows operating systems.
