Supported SCSI Components and Configurations
NOTE RS/12 SCSI cards are labeled on their exterior surface with their SCSI type:
• Ultra2 D6025B cards are labeled "Ultra2 SCSI 80 MB/s."
• Ultra3 D6025C cards are labeled "Ultra3 SCSI 160 MB/s."
The label is visible even when the card is installed in the RS/12 enclosure.
RS/12 component and configuration guidelines:
• In cluster configuration only, do NOT mix Ultra2 and Ultra3 SCSI cards in the same RS/12 enclosure. Both
SCSI cards must be the same type, Ultra2 D6025B or Ultra3 D6025C.
• In duplex configuration, you can mix Ultra2 and Ultra3 SCSI cards in the same RS/12 enclosure because
components in the left half of the enclosure are separate from components in the right half of the enclosure.
• Ultra3 SCSI performance (160 MB/s transfer rate) requires purely Ultra3 SCSI components (Ultra3 SCSI host
system adapters, D6025C SCSI cards, and Ultra3 SCSI hard disk drives).
• Table 1 lists components and configurations supported for Ultra2 SCSI.
• Table 2 lists components and configurations supported for Ultra3 SCSI.
• Table 3 lists the performance of cluster configurations of combinations of Ultra2 SCSI components and Ultra3
SCSI components.
• Table 4 lists the performance of supported cluster configurations.
