Add a new host/service comment
Adding service or host comments
1. In the Service Comments or the Host Comments section, click the Add new service comment or Add
new host comment link (
). The External Command Interface appears.
2. In the Command Options section, enter the following information:
•HostName
Service (if you are adding a ser vice comment)
NOTE:
Enter host and service names exactly as they appear in PCC views.
Author (Your Name)
Comment
3. To retain comments between N agios restarts, select the Persistent check box.
4. Click Comm it to save changes, or click Reset to clear input elds.

Deleting comments
1. Find comment.
2. In the Actions column, click the wastebasket icon (
). The External Command Interface appears.
3. In the Command Options section, enter the following information:
•HostName
•Service
4. Click Comm it to save changes, or click Reset to clear input elds.
Host Downtime
Use this view to display and schedule host and service downtimes, and disable n otications during
periods when target hosts and services are down. Scheduled downtimes are generally p eriods of planned
outage. You can also schedule downtime for a host or service that is already down.
