The first 16 Fibre Channel ports are physical ports on the B-Series MP Router blade, Ports 16-23 are
virtual ports associated with the GE0 physical GbE link and ports 24-31 are virtual ports associated
with GE1 physical GbE link. The GbE ports are displayed as ge0 and ge1 and are not assigned
port numbers or area numbers.
Recommendations for cable management
Cables can be organized and managed in a variety of ways, such as by using cable channels or
patch panels. Following is a list of recommendations:
Plan cable management before installing the blade.
Leave at least one meter of slack for each port cable. This provides room to remove and replace
the blades, and helps prevent the cables from being bent to less than the minimum bend radius.
