Version: 6.0 Description HP Storage SAN Visibility (SAN Visibility) provides a quick and easy way to review the topology and inventory in a complex Storage Area Network (SAN) environment. Update recommendation Recommended Supersedes HP Storage SAN Visibility version 5.1 New features HP Storage SAN Visibility offers the following new features: • Added EVA-3PAR StoreServ Storage Migration recommendation feature.
• Supports physical host discovery of HP-UX, RHEL, SUSE, HyperV, VMware ESX, and Microsoft Windows. Also supports virtualization by discovering virtual machines associated with HyperV and VMware ESX. • Detects host operating system details and the details of the HBA attached to the host. • Provides XP firmware recommendations for XP storage devices in the report. • Supports data collection from Microsoft windows hosts configured with Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) addresses.
Supported Operating Systems for Installation/Upgradation • Microsoft Windows system with any of the following operating systems: ◦ Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard or Enterprise edition with Service Pack 2 ◦ Microsoft Windows XP Professional edition with Service Pack 2 ◦ Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 2 ◦ Microsoft Windows 7 ◦ Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 ◦ Microsoft Windows Vista Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 2 (x86) NOTE: For installing SAN Visibi
• In case of host discovery and data collection, collecting data from the host where HP Storage SAN Visibility 6.0 is installed may not collect HBA related data always. For such host, the processed report may not have completed the compatibility analysis. To resolve this issue, HP Storage SAN Visibility 6.0 tool can be installed on a different host, and then the host under question can be targeted for discovery and data collection. • Reports generated from HP Storage SAN Visibility 5.
• SFP Module Types for Cisco FCoE switches may display as Unknown or N/A in the processed SAN Visibility report. • If SAN Visibility is unable to collect WWNN information for a SAN component, the comparison and port details for that SAN component may be incorrect.
