HP StorageWorks SAN Visibility 5.1 release notes

Supports physical host discovery of HP-UX, RHEL, SUSE, HyperV, VMware ESX, and Microsoft
Windows. Also supports virtualization by discovering virtual machines associated with HyperV
and VMware ESX.
Detects host operating system details and the details of the HBA attached to the host.
Provides XP firmware recommendations for XP storage devices in the report.
Supported Operating Systems for Installation/Upgradation
Microsoft Windows system with any of the following operating systems:

For installing SAN Visibility on a system running on Microsoft Vista, do one of the following:

Enhancements
SAN Visibility 5.1 includes the following enhancements:
Compatibility check between SAN components: Analyzes compatibility between the SAN compon-
ents available in the report. It will check compatibilities between, Host and Switch, Switch and
Storage Systems, Host and Storage System using SDG guidelines.
Check for SAN Design Guide Fabric non-adherences Runs through captured SAN information and
analyzes it for any potential SAN Design Guide non-adherence and generate recommendations
in the processed report based on the output of the nonadherence check.
IPv6 support for Windows Hosts: Supports data collection from Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 hosts
configured with Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) addresses.
Newly supported Storage Devices: Provides support for

Send Logs: Intuitive and one click function to send log from GUI.
Mail acknowledgement to sender's email id Informs the sender about the processed report sent to
the mail id mentioned in SV GUI.
