New Serviceguard Manager Features for October 2009 Patches
With the patches listed under “October 2009 Patches” (page 10), Serviceguard Manager
provides the following new capabilities:
Cluster Topology Map.
Coordinates all elements of the HA monitoring infrastructure into a single,
easy-to-use graphical format. You can view cluster status at a glance, perform
management tasks by right clicking cluster component icons in the map, and drag
a package icon to a node icon to perform a “move package” operation.
Local Syslog and Package Log Viewers.
Improve troubleshooting by quickly displaying the local syslog and package logs,
if consolidated logs are not available.
Cluster Configuration Enhancements.
Perform disk lock activation in half the time using the Disk and File Management
Tool from the Serviceguard Manager cluster configuration page.
Serviceguard Manager Load Time Enhancement.
Much faster loading of Serviceguard Manager pages into a web browser.
Authorization Enhancement.
An automated reminder to create a cmclnodelist will be displayed if an
authorization problem is detected by Serviceguard Manager.
IP Polling Enhancement.
You can use Serviceguard-discovered IP polling targets when using Serviceguard
Manager to configure the cluster.
Identify SG/LX node running on a Xen host.
The ability to identify HPVM and VMware guest and host virtual machines on an
HP Serviceguard for Linux node has been expanded to include Xen guests and
hosts.
Serviceguard Manager and Serviceguard Clusters
If you manage clusters running different versions of Serviceguard, you will need run
the version of Serviceguard Manager appropriate to each.
