A.12.00.00 Release Notes
Announcements
This edition of the release notes provides information about Quorum Server for Linux version
A.12.00.00 and is supported for Serviceguard cluster on HP-UX and Linux.
Supported Platforms
HP Serviceguard Quorum Server for Linux version A.12.00.00 is available on the following Linux
distributions:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
NOTE: For more information about supported versions see the latest version of HP Serviceguard
Quorum Server Compatibility Matrix available at http://www.hp.com/go/linux-serviceguard-docs.
There is no functional difference between A.12.00.00 and A.04.00.
This version provides the following capabilities:
Serviceguard A.11.19 and later allows Serviceguard A.11.19 cluster nodes to communicate
with the Quorum Server on an alternate subnet; see “Using alternate subnets (page 10).
IMPORTANT: This version of quorum server is required if you intend to use an alternate
subnet with Serviceguard A.11.19 and later, and must be installed before you upgrade an
A.11.18 cluster using an alternate subnet to A.11.19 and later.
Allows Serviceguard A.11.19 cluster nodes to communicate with the Quorum Server using
IPv6 subnets.
For more information, see “Setting Quorum Server parameters in the cluster configuration file
(page 10).
Supports IPv6–only Quorum Servers
A system configured to use only IPv6 addresses can provide quorum service to a Serviceguard
cluster that is configured as an IPv6–only or mixed-mode cluster. See About Hostname Address
Families: IPv4-Only, IPv6-Only, and Mixed Mode” in Chapter 4 of the latest version of
Managing Serviceguard or Managing Serviceguard for Linux.
IMPORTANT: These alternate subnet and IPv6 capabilities are available only with Serviceguard
versions that support them. See “Compatibility with Serviceguard versions for more information
and restrictions.
For information about system requirements and recommendations, see “System requirements and
recommendations.
Cluster name restrictions
