1 Serviceguard for Linux Oracle Toolkit Version A.03.01 Release Notes Announcements The Serviceguard for Linux Oracle Toolkit is a separate set of shell scripts that allow you to configure a Serviceguard package to monitor an Oracle database server. This product consists of a source ‘rpm’ file, which after installation, will enable a Serviceguard for Linux (SG/Linux) package to provide high availability for an Oracle database server application and a (single) configured listener.
NOTE: At the time of publication, Oracle toolkit version A.03.01 supports Serviceguard version A.11.16 and later. What’s in this Version The Serviceguard Oracle Toolkit for Linux provides high availability for an Oracle database server application. The A.03.01 version of Serviceguard for Linux Oracle Toolkit contains the following: • • • • • • Support for Listener Monitoring Support for Oracle 9i, and 10g R1 and R2 Support for all servers that are supported by Serviceguard for Linux.
Package Control Script: SERVICE_NAME [1] = LISTENER_${SID_NAME}SERVICE_CMD[1]=/opt/cmcluster/pkg/${SID_NAME}/toolkit.sh monitor_listener”SERVICE_RESTART [1] =”-r 100" The service restart counter can be reset to zero for this service by using the Serviceguard command cmmodpkg. The service restart counter is incremented each time the service fails. It is used to determine when a package has exceeded its restart limit as defined by the SERVICE_RESTART parameter in the package control script.
Compatibility Information and Installation Requirements In addition to the instructions provided below see the README provided with the Oracle toolkit for more detailed installing and configuring instructions. IMPORTANT: You cannot use the Serviceguard for Linux Oracle Toolkit without the Oracle product. Copy the Serviceguard for Linux Oracle Toolkit files to the newly created package directory: # cp $SGROOT/oracletoolkit/* $SGCONF/ NOTE: Use the environment variables $SGROOT and $SGCONF as defined in the Managing HP Serviceguard for Linux user’s guide. 5. Run the cmmakepkg command to generate a package configuration file and package control script template in the $SGCONF/ directory. # cd $SGCONF/ # cmmakepkg -p pkg.conf # cmmakepkg -s pkg.
