Metrocluster with EMC SRDF Version A.05.01 Release Notes (5900-1102), August 2010

5. For more details on how to upgrade Solutions Enabler, refer to the EMC Solutions
Enabler Installation guide available on the EMC website.
6. Once the firmware and the Solutions Enabler upgrades are completed, apply this
patch on all the nodes of the Metrocluster.
7. Existing Metrocluster environment files of the package can be used without any
changes. In case the package needs to be configured to take advantage of the new
features listed in the section “New features in the patch PHSS_41308 on HP-UX
11i v1” (page 6), use the sample SRDF environment file /opt/cmcluster/
toolkit/SGSRDF/srdf.env and make necessary changes. For more information
about the new attributes that are added to HP-UX 11i v1, see “Changes to Script
Templates in the patch PHSS_41308 on HP-UX 11i v1” (page 13).
8. If the environment file has changed, copy the file to all the nodes in the cluster.
9. Enable the global switching of all the Metrocluster packages running on the cluster:
# cmmodpkg -e <Metrocluster_pkg_name>
Changes to Script Templates in the patch PHSS_41308 on HP-UX 11i v1
The following variables have been added to provide new functionality:
AUTOSPLITR1
This variable is used to enable automatic package startup on the R1
site when the links are split. Set the value of this parameter to 1 in
the environment file in the R1 site.
SYNCTIMEOUT
This variable controls package startup at the R1 site during a failback.
The package status is delayed for resynchronization to complete
during a failback. The number you specify for this variable
determines the time, in seconds, that the package waits for
resynchronization to complete. You can specify a number between
5 and 36000.
Changes to Script Templates in A.05.00 and Later
The following variables have been added to provide new functionality:
RDF_MODE (new)
This variable is used to indicate the data replication mode.
AUTORIRWSUSP (new)
This variable is used to indicate whether the package
should auto start when the pairstate is suspended.
SYMCLI_MODE (new)
If this variable is already set, then unset. Otherwise, do
not set.
