EMC Symmetrix Hardware Requirements
HP-UX 11i v2
• The following Symmetrix VMAX series are supported with Metrocluster/SRDF:
— Symmetrix “6” (DMX Series)
◦ 800
◦ 1000
◦ 2000
◦ 3000
— Symmetrix “7” (DMX 3 and DMX 4)
— Symmetrix “VMAX” Series
HP-UX 11i v3:
• The following Symmetrix VMAX series are supported with Metrocluster/SRDF:
— Symmetrix “6” (DMX Series)
◦ 800
◦ 1000
◦ 2000
◦ 3000
— Symmetrix “7” (DMX 3 and DMX 4)
— Symmetrix “VMAX” Series
The two Symmetrix ICDAs connected by SRDF may be different models. For more
details on compatibility between different levels of Enginuity, refer to the SRDF
Interfamily Connectivity Support document available at the EMC website.
• EMC Symmetrix DMX is required for SRDF/Asynchronous data replication.
• SRDF firmware must be configured, and hardware installed on both Symmetrix
units.
• Symmetrix microcode level. (see note below)
